Hard to find honest people like Paul anymore. He was supposed to refinish a bathtub and 2 bathroom sinks but he callled me right after he had cleaned them as per prepping instructions and declared the tub and sinks cleaned so well, refinishing is not required anymore. I manage a concession business at a sports center, our counters were outdated and were an unpleasant brown color. I initially got quotes to replace the counters but the cost was unrealistic.

I hired Paul to not only refinish an old fiberglass tub and sink/counter area, but to also replace some cracked fiberglass at the bottom of the tub. His prices were reasonable and he was really sincere, detailed and straightforward about how the process worked. No upsells or anything like that.

He came out on his day off for an estimate. Due to work, I knew I was not going to be available on the day of the refinishing. I gave him my keys and crossed my fingers. Two weeks later, he had the keys, conducted the work with zero drama and put the keys in an area I requested. Completely trustworthy guy. He also patiently waited a few days so that I can visit the unit and approve of the work before any money crossed hands.

Our's sinks, bathroom and the countertops he gazed make them all look brand new. We had it done about 2 months but I held off on reviewing Paul's work until I saw how durable they are. I couldn't be happier. It took 2 different trips, one for the bathtub and sinks to be glazed and one visit to spray the countertops. They still look amazing. Maybe once every 2 weeks I use liquid soft soap to clean them and they look like they are brand new. Paul always showed up when he said he would and of course that's important too. Paul did an amazing job with our soon to be baby bathroom!

With a baby on the way, my husband and I decided it was finally time to renovate our second guest bathroom. We re-did our master bathroom when we moved in but due to the high price of contractors and renovations, we held off on the second bathroom.

The bathroom tub wasn't in terrible shape but it wasn't great either. We re-did the tile on the floor, put in a new toilet and vanity as well as a fresh coat of paint but the tub left us scratching our heads in terms of whether or not it needed to be replaced or just refinished. The tub was a yellow color, had multiple cracks in the tiling and was overall in poor to moderate shape.

We found Paul through Yelp and was immediately very impressed with his quick response time and professional advice. We were debating whether or not to leave the door in or take it out and after finding out we had a baby on the way, he suggested to take it off to make it easier for baby bath time and accessing the tub itself. Paul was incredibly detail oriented and was very friendly and efficient. He explained everything he was doing and also shared with us his cool story of how he got into this field. Many years ago, I bought a mid '70s house with groovy avocado/orange/brown floral accent tiles in a guest bath. We hired Paul of Chestnut Coatings to coat tub, tub/shower tile walls, sink, counter and backsplash. Love the look (clean, bright white) and the savings vs. remodeling. Thrilled with how it's held up. Now, 15 years later, only the tub needs re-coating. Can't imagine calling anyone else to do the work.

I had a kitchen sink that showed its age. In order to remove it, some tile would have to be removed. Recoating was the more sensible route.

I had a chip (about the size of a quarter) in the bathtub. Because it's such a small job, many refinishing services were not interested. Everyone I talked to gave me the same speech: the project was small... would work it into their schedule... would call when there's a project around my area... Paul re-glazed my 50 year old bathtub and all I can say is WOW. The tub had been damaged by previous owners (I suspect repeated dousings with Drano) and the finish was ruined.

Paul sprayed a tub and a shower for us. It turned out beautiful. But the part that I like to say that was even better was he had to come back about five days afterwards when I scratched the color off because I had a pipe wrench that I was trying to undo a pipe and I scratched it and he came and took care of it for free.

Paul did a nice job of coating a shower stall and tub surround. They look like new. He showed up on time and even offered to come back for touch ups once we have new shower doors installed.

While I was scheduling the appointment, Paul explained the entire process of what he would be doing and how long it would take. The results are amazing! I went from having a very ugly 1970's brown and green tub to a beautiful shiny white tub and tile surround. He came back after everything was dry and installed the new shower head and trim pieces. Paul did a great job coating our shower and tub for our condo in Huntington Beach. The existing shower and tub had a coating that was peeling off, Paul sanded it all off and applied his special coat. Which is under warranty for 5 years. He offers great service and a great product, highly recommended.

Originally I'd contacted another company, they couldn't take on my project but referred me over to Paul -best referral ever!!! They said he was a master of his craft, and I definitely wasn't disappointed.
Initially I thought my tub needed to be completely refinished, but to my surprise; Paul was able to get it shiny and new without even having to paint it.
He removed all the grody old caulking, re-caulked, and installed a new drain, overflow regulator & tub spout. It's so beautiful, I still can't believe it's the same old tub!
On top of doing awesome work, Paul was super nice. He arrived on time, was very friendly; and did a great job cleaning everything up after the project was finished. If you need your tub or shower refinished or brought back to life, Paul should be the first person you call!
